Salaried GP

Background –

An outstanding opportunity for an experienced, recently qualified or newly qualifying GP to join an established GP Training Practice in South Tyneside.

The team are very supportive and have been described as a work family who take an interest in each other’s wellbeing. They are part of the ‘better health at work scheme’ and like to socialise outside work recently setting up a walk and talk group for anyone to attend.

Visible and sociable they offer plenty of opportunities for catch ups, where GPs come out of their rooms frequently with a daily shared break at 10.30am each morning.

You’ll have just 14 patients contact per session, with a catch up slot after every 4/5 patients. Home visiting requirement for GPs is by exception and majority are dealt with by their Registrars. Duty day is capped and never borders on unsafe levels, the practice also offer an hour back in lieu to recognise the longer day when you work as the on call GP!

There is a monthly afternoon off site for teaching/training sessions covering a variety of topics.

The practice also pays CPD where you are trusted to do this in your own time from home.

Genuinely encouraging of special interests, with the ethos ‘specialisms make for happier Doctors’! They have previously supported a number of GPs in gaining diplomas and would certainly replicate this for any GPs also looking to build a portfolio career.

Salary – £91,000

Your role –

• Salaried GP
• 4-8 sessions
• 28 patients per day
  • 14 in the AM
  • 14 in the PM
• One Duty day per week where you will given 1 hour time in lieu for working a longer day when on call
• Start and finish times are very flexible
