Maternity Cover Salaried GP

Background –

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Training & Research Practice as a Salaried GP, set in a popular, relatively affluent sea-side town easily commutable from Bristol. The practice has made excellent progress in the last few years and has continued to address the increasing pressures facing GPs by adapting their working pattern and workflow processes to make GPs’ lives easier.
The team are sociable and supportive of each other, meeting for coffee every morning at 10.30.
With three GP Trainers in the practice, applications from newly qualifying GPs are very welcome.

Start – February 2024

Duration – 12 months

Salary – c£11,000 per session plus indemnity

Location – Clevedon

The surgery –

• GP Training & Research Practice
• Geared towards reducing GP workload
• Outstanding workflow processes – perhaps 15 PATH links a day and maybe 5 other documents
• Excellent support team including Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Home-visiting Paramedic, Elderly Care Nurses, Physician Associates, First Contact Physio and Mental Health Practitioner
• Mixed-affluent demographic
• Stable Partnership with good mix of ages
• Above average elderly but only a small number of patients in care homes
• EMIS Web clinical system

Your role –

• Ideally 6 sessions per week but might consider 4 sessions
• 25 – 27 patients per day
• 15-minute appointments
• Coffee break at 10.30
• Only one Duty session per week
• Minimal home visits – Paramedic does the vast majority
• No extended hours requirement
