The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high growth, well funded start-up in what is a newly formed function and the first hire into the team. It is a full time position with large potential to grow as the role and the business expands. As Director of Business Development, you’ll have substantial impact on the company and their mission from day one. You will be one of their eyes and ears on the ground at a micro and macro level, providing industry insights back to the team. As the first external facing hire, it’s an exciting opportunity to shape their partnerships and business development team. Based in New York you can work fully remotely or there is an office in Midtown Manhattan and you’ll have the option to work in an office if you choose to.

The Role

You will report directly to the COO and you will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, developing, and maintaining strategic relationships at senior levels across the digital health, partnerships, and investor space.

You will be required to:

  • Identify partnership opportunities that could result in lead-generation, referrals, cross-selling, re-selling and other avenues of long term growth.
  • Build partnerships with digital health entrepreneurs with angel investors, techstars and entities including channel partnerships and prioritize and incubate strategic partnerships in the digital health space.
  • Build a framework to prioritize various partnership opportunities, including impact to existing sales strategies and existing channels.
  • Create content marketing strategy and writing structure to communicate their value proposition to potential new customers, working alongside our Marketing team.
  • Develop a BD/Partnership/Content Marketing playbook that can ultimately be used in additional customer segments.

The Candidate

They are a mission driven company and are looking for someone with strong values who has a passion for healthcare and wants to work in a place that cares about improving patient outcomes and experiences. You should be trustworthy and care about people – your colleagues, customers and everyone around you.

  • You should have strong a partnership and business development background with at least 8 years of experience in fast growing technology or healthcare companies.
  • 4+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales.
  • You should have established relationships with entrepreneurs within the Digital Health Community including investor and incubator communities.
  • Experience with content marketing for a product team, ideally in SaaS.
  • Ability to engage with senior executives, key decision makers across a variety of audiences.
  • Willingness to travel, and work remotely, as needed.

Salary – Upto $150,000 – $170,000 DOE
