Welcome to the new week and to our Menlo Park Adult Social Care news page! We will provide news round ups and events from the sector, as well as industry insights and expertise!
At the start of the week, we looked at an article by The Guardian about people living with Dementia in care homes.
According to Alzheimers.org.uk, there are around 850,000 people living with Dementia in the UK. Also, worryingly this figure is predicted to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. Dementia can start in people as young as 30, however it is more common in people over the age of 65.
Care homes have to find ways to manage and help people living with dementia. That’s why there has been a new training programme for care homes aimed to improve the wellbeing of people in their care.

Marie Curie and the RCGP
Marie Curie and the RCGP have partnered together to enhance the ‘Daffodil Standards’ programme. This aims to help GPs and practice staff to provide a consistent level of care, specifically to end of life and palliative care.
The new standards were put into motion prior to the pandemic. GP Practices can sign up ti the initiative, and currently one in six practices are already signed up.

Menlo Park tree planting
We are very happy to announce our initiative! We will plant a tree on behalf of every client and candidate we place in a new role.
We’re passionate about the environment. We understand that there are always things that companies can do better.
So, we made the decision that we wanted to make a positive impact on the world. We will plant a tree on behalf of each cnadidate and company we work with.
Menlo Park have always strived to use eco products for our merchandise, so this is just another area where we can try to make a difference.
We will continue to try to improve our process for the good of the environment.
